James Rodger Gerrie, age 59 passed away Sunday, February 5th, 2012 at Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville after his long battle with cancer surrounded by his family.
He was born November 22, 1952 in Toronto, Ontario to Shirley and Edward Gerrie. He married Katherine Preece on May 5, 1972. He worked as a Materials Quality Control Supervisor for Goodyear/Huntsman/Pliant Corporation in Toronto for 35 years. James truly loved life though simple passions such as Live Music, Fishing, Snowmobiling, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Kathy; daughters, Jennifer (Dean Seabrook) and Heather; grandchildren Alyssa, Isabella and Gabriel; sister, Lynda (Joseph Mitchell) Sister in Law Lynda Preece, nieces and nephews Coleen, Joey, Nicole, Kathleen and Sean.
Family, friends and others whose lives James touched are invited to TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 33 Main Street, East, Huntsville for a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 11th, 2012 at 1pm.
The Gerrie family would like to extend our gratitude to all staff at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto and especially the loving and nurturing staff and volunteers at Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville who made his last weeks so filled with comfort, love and dignity.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville, would be appreciated.

My kind, considerate, talented, and humourous brother will always be with me in my memories, but the unfairness of his suffering and death have left a hole in my heart.

I played music with Jim this past year...he's one of the finest guitarists i've known. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" will always remind me of him. Glad I was able to share the stage with Jim . Keep on rocking'...Gary and Marion
